What is Joe Trane? It's an intimate underground jazz session founded by Melting Part dynamic duo Nick and Henry, powered by a community of talented musicians, artists and dancers, that began at Basement Cafe in Taipei, Taiwan.
Together with Studio Monkey Shoulder, they've been able to take Joe Trane to new cities and host their first all day festival programme in October. Gilles Peterson was in attendance and was blown away by their passion and energy to showcase the musical talent coming out of Taiwan and to build new communities, both locally and globally.
